 Phil Jarman started off in the men’s hairdressing industry in 1987 at Brownlees Barbers, Port Glasgow, Scotland and then went on an education / fact finding mission to learn as much of the industry as possible.
In 17 years working in no fewer than 17 different barbershops in Scotland, England, France, America and Bermuda. phew! :)
Phil has learned much from many different barbers (good and terrible) over the years, and has taken this knowledge into this new concept Men’s Hair Salon called Jarmans.
Over the past 17 years Phil has also been given the opportunity to be involved with various teaching and stage seminars. Working with the companies "Hair Productions, American Crew and Guy Kremmer" who is one of the top names in the industry. |

 My hairdressing carer started at 14 as a junior at Top Knotts in Crawley, when I left school I decided to obtain my NVQ level 2 in ladies and men hairdressing.
During my time at college, I continued to work at Top Knotts and learnt all aspects of hair dressing, this allowed me to perfect my skill as a qualified hairdresser, I was also fortunate to be sent on a advanced cutting course with Goldwell Academy in London, this gave me the skill to become far more creative and bold with my work.
Currently now working at Jarman as a barber has provided me with more skills, as cutting men’s hair is completely different to ladies and again I was fortunate to be taught by Phil Jarman the owner.
Jarmans is a great team of professional barbers, with a relaxed atmosphere and modern decor, so guys what you are waiting for........ |

 Hello my name is Prejay Dhamelia-York. I am from London and have worked in London for 6 Years as a aspiring young mens hairdresser. I have been trained in the Art of Design and worked with several highly qaulified stylist.
I came to Phil Jarman With ambition. With my prior experiences from the mens styling world plus training offered to myself by Phil Jarman. Has enable me to cut with precision creating the most articulate haircuts of my career. With this new Power in presion cutting. I have adapted other techniques such as consultation to acquire the required cut. My skills include Precision Cutting, Styles, Artistic Designs of Exclusive Origionality and Flare.

My name is Sarah, my hairdressing career started at TopsyTurvey where I started as a part time Saturday girl, there I went on to do my NVQ level 2 in men’s and women’s hairdressing I also qualified in the S.A.M programme that enabled me to fully qualify as a hairdresser with NVQ certificates.
I then went on an advanced L’Oreal haircutting and colouring course in London as well as a advanced barbering course. I am now working at Jarmans as a barber; I really love my job and think that this really reflects in my work. Jarmans has given me the opportunity to further my skills as a brilliant barber. I have had the privilege of being trained further and mentored by Phil Jarman who has over 17 years of experience in the barbering industry, who has given me skills to further my career within this industry. |
